Bregninge

White-tailed Eagles

It starts and finishes by the church - the bus stops nearby and there is a car park. A two hour route with lovely views, starting and finishing at the parking place directly opposite the church gates, just down the road from Gæstgiveri.

Route Not so much historical stuff on this loop, but a fine walk nonetheless with great views and the bonus of Bregninge Church (in my view the prettiest on Ærø) and Gæstgiveri (a friendly place for a good beer and a meal, especially if the weather is good and you can sit in the garden). The big highlight, if you are lucky, is a glimpse of the white-tailed eagle, cruising overhead like a feathered B-52.

Places to stay and eat - the only place to eat is Gæstgiveri, but it is worth planning the walk around it if you can fit in an early dinner here after the walk. They also have nice rooms and are hiker-friendly. The best camping option is the little “harbour” down at Skåret (waypoint 5).
